John Varco

While at home thrutching up an Indian Creek 5.13 off width or clipping bolts on a desperate sport route, Johns real passion is Alpine climbing. His strong technical background combined with his humble and laid back attitude makes him a perfect Alpine animal. John has climbed around the world, notable ascents include: The Eiger North Face in winter, a one day ascent of Mt. Huntington in Alaska, first ascent of the SW ridge on Annapurna (7555m) Nepal and the first ascent of a route on the North buttress of Kalanka (6931m) India.

Originally from the flat lands of St. Paul, MN, he moved to Colorado 13 years ago. His mail box says that home is Steamboat Springs though he is rarely there.
