Angela Hawse is one of the most experienced women guides and instructors in the U.S. with over 25 years of experience. She is well versed in all disciplines of climbing and works year-round as a guide in alpine, rock, ice and ski mountaineering terrain. Her enthusiasm for climbing and mountains is contagious and she has many clients who climb with her year after year to challenge themselves with new goals and travel to remote corners of the world.
Angela is one of only seven women in the U.S. to have completed her AMGA rock, alpine and ski mountaineering guide exams to become an IFMGA / UIAGM internationally licensed Mountain Guide.
Angela has climbed, skied and guided throughout the U.S., Alaska, Canada, the Andes, Himalaya and Karakorum. She has climbed big walls in Yosemite, Zion and Pakistan, ski traversed Lapland, reached the South Summit of Mt. Everest (28,875ft.) and guided five Denali expeditions. She has guided four of the Seven Summits; Mt. Everest, Denali, Carstensz Pyramid and Aconcagua and an all-women’s ascent of Ama Dablam in the Everest Region. Angela is a specialist at wedding service with adventure and has a long track record of making good things happen. In 2001, she earned a Master of Arts degree in International Mountain Conservation for her work.
Angela also guides for Chicks with Picks, Women that Rock, Chicks on Cracks, Splitter Camps, Aerial Boundaries and Moab Desert Adventures. She trains guides as an instructor for the American Mountain Guides Association and served on the AMGA’s board of directors for six years. Angela is a Denail Pro Pin recipient for a rescue she carried out on while guiding on Denali.
