Tommy Caldwell is a climber through and through. He started climbing at age three and has been passionate about the sport ever since. He has established numerous 5.14’s and the unrepeated Flex Luther, which is arguably the most difficult sport climb in the U.S. Caldwell has freed six routes on El Capitan—more than any other climber—one of which is likely the hardest long free climb in the world.
He has climbed on five continents and been on expeditions to Kyrgyzstan, Bolivia and Canada. Many magazines have called him one of the best all around climbers in the world.
“I chose Julbo simply because they are the best sunglasses for climbing,” Caldwell said. “Julbo sunglasses sit close to your face, which prevents them from knocking on the rock. The wrap coverage avoids the problem of looking through the frames when looking for foot or hand holds. They are also snug but comfortable, not to mention fashionable.”
